1986-90 journalist in Africa and Asia

1987-92 Fair Trade Original in Culemborg, the Netherlands:
Head of Producer & Sourcing Department, started FTO’s Producer Assistance Program.

1992-96 Heinrich-Böll-Foundation in Cologne, Germany:
Responsible for the Foundation’s program of cooperation with organizations in developing countries.

1996-2000 Representative of Oxfam in Havana, Cuba. Co-designed and managed the Joint Cuba Program of seven national Oxfam organizations.

2000-01 Heinrich-Boell-Foundation in Brussels, Belgium:
Director of the South-North Program.

2001-2007 Managing Director of Fairtrade Labelling Organizations (FLO) International in Bonn, Germany.

2007-2008 Consultancies regarding the integration of sustainability in consumer-facing companies, developing communications and marketing strategies for a CO2-compensation organization, and the development of a concept for Fairtrade tourism, etc.

Since June 2008 Managing Director of the Belgian development organization Vredeseilanden.
